What makes someone a true role model?
In this episode, students follow best friends Lily and Rachel as they prepare a class presentation about Dolly Parton, the person who inspires them most. Although their classmates initially see Dolly as simply a country singer with sparkling clothes and big hair, the girls are determined to show them that there is much more behind her famous style. As Lily and Rachel research Dolly’s childhood, career, courage, and generosity, they discover how she overcame setbacks, stood up for herself, created opportunities for others, and helped provide free books to children through the Imagination Library. This fictional story blends real history with a relatable classroom adventure, helping students explore perseverance, kindness, self-confidence, and what it truly means to be a positive role model.
